Finding The Right Architect

Baton Rouge architects

As I’m sure you already know, finding the right architect is crucial to any particular type of structural project you might have going on. Do you plan on designing a new home from the ground up? Or are you considering putting up a brand-new building on a plot of land that you own? Better yet, do you plan on building a brand-new skyscraper into the skies of Manhattan? If you want to do any one of these things, you are absolutely going to need an architect to design the plans and put the whole structure in place so that your home, building or skyscraper is perfectly sound and structurally usable for the masses.

That’s why I’ve created a process that will help you locate and then recognize the best architect for the job that you are looking to begin. Choosing the right architect is so important to the overall success and completion of any structural creation, so you really must go through this entire process if you plan on choosing an architect for a particular project that you have going on that you want to begin. It might just be an image in the back of your mind at this point, and that’s fine, but you’ll need a quality architect to bring that image to life in the form of a plan and design.

Let’s go over the plan of finding the right architect now so that you can begin your personal project as soon as possible.

How Do I Begin Looking for the Right Architect for My Project?

The first thing you should do is gather a list of the names of all of the various architect firms in the immediate area of where you live, or where you plan on building your structure. If you happen to be a person of tremendous means then you might want to search for the best architect in the world as opposed to the best architect in your immediate area. It all depends on the size of the project and the amount of money you have available to sink into the project and architecture fees. So keep that in mind as you go through this process because it’s the same process for architects near or far.

You could either use the Internet to gather the list of potential prospects you are interested in, or you might want to pick up your local Yellow Pages and use that as a guide to finding the information that you desire. Like I said already, it all depends on the size of your project and the lengths you’re willing to go to find the perfect architect to fit your needs. Whatever the case may be, gather those names by using the Internet or the local phone book and then compile a list of those names, as well as their contact information and website address, and keep it available in some type of a spreadsheet or word document so you could easily access it whenever you need it. You might even want to print this document out so that you have it available in front of you for the next steps in the process.

What Is the Second Step I Should Take for Finding the Right Architect?

This is usually where I tell people to go on the Internet and use their favorite search engine to look up the names of the individual architect firms so you can see what types of reviews pop up. I want to change this around a little bit because I believe this method will be even better.

You are going to use the search engines like I said, and you are going to search the individual names of all of the architecture firms on your list. But instead of looking for user reviews right away I actually want you to look for articles that were written for architectural magazines and journals that speak highly of the company that you are interested in. You also want to look for any type of press releases that may have been written regarding some of the bigger projects that the architectural firm might have begun working on.

Maybe the architectural firm you’re interested in designed a brand-new building which they just broke ground on and are starting to finally use those designs to build it into the structure that it’s supposed to be. You’re basically looking for all of the biggest achievements that the architectural firm has achieved over the years while they are in business. This is a big enough field where you should be able to find lots of articles and press releases regarding the company’s you are looking into. If you don’t find anything then you should make a note of that on your printout because they could be a relatively new firm or they might not be the best firm for the job.

What’s the Next Step in the Process of Finding the Right Architect?

Now I want you to look for user reviews to see if there are any other people online speaking about the architects that you’re interested in. This is a great way to come up with information about a company that is completely unbiased. But there is also the possibility that you might want to go to the architect’s website and see if they have any testimonials that they have posted on there. It is illegal to post fake testimonials so you can trust that the things they have on their website are real. The firm would get in a lot of trouble if they posted phony testimonials and I don’t think they’d want that kind of problem coming down on them.

Now that you’ve gathered all of this information about the architectural firms you’re interested in, you need to compare and contrast it all so that you can whittle down your list to the most ideal candidates. You should probably narrow down your list to a top three so that you can go through with the final step of the process.

What Is the Final Step of the Process for Finding the Right Architect?

The final step is actually the interview phase of finding the perfect architect for your structural project. You want to interview all of these architects and see if they understand your vision and will be capable of bringing your dreams into reality.

Establishing a rapport with these individuals is important, and you would probably want to work with the one individual who understands you and gets you the most. This is the person who is going to recognize your vision and truly have the best chance at bringing it to reality the way you want to see it done. So rapport goes a long way and it’s something you should definitely look for during the interview process.

These are the main things you need to do when you’re trying to find the right architect. This is a very valuable process that you certainly want to go through, and it will really help you narrow down your search to the point where you pinpoint the ideal architect for the work you are trying to do. So put this information into action and find the ideal architect for your vision today.
